Web 2.0 is YOU!
1. How will emerging technology (ie: blogs, videos, e-readers,e-books) affect literacy?
2. How is Web 2.0 challenging us to "rethink ourselves" (ie: friendships, work, education, community, family etc...)?
As technology advances, it will either affect the literacy in a bad or a good way. Texting, msn or any technology that keeps you away from a face to face conversation is not good. The technology keeps us away from a real conversation and as time passes we will not know how to have a real conversation or keep a conversation going. It will be awkward and eventually we will not know how to speak to one another to keep a conversation going. It also affects our vocabulary since many teenagers and even adults use short forms so they wouldn't know have to write as much and it is much faster so our vocabulary will decrease and it will get worse and worse. I agree that having these technologies can be a benefit to us in certain ways depending on how you use it. For example if you were somewhere and you needed to know something right there and you didn't have a computer. Then the technology would be useful but in ways of communicating, I think its a negative affect.
Web 2.0 is challenging us to "rethink ourselves" because with new technology coming out every year, we will need to learn how to use them and when the proper time to use them is. Everyone is all hooked up with the new technology that we are slowly losing contact with our social lives. People are starting to interact more with their computer and are more into what's going on on their computers then they're own social life. Web 2.0 is challenging us to rethink which priorities should come first in our life and what is more important.

A Look at Music Videos
Initial reaction: What are your immediate thoughts and observations when you view the music video?
My immediate thoughts and observations when I saw this music video is that the character in this video is not the singer and this story line will be about two other people and the group "Lady Antebellum" will be singing as their background music, showing how they will feel and what is on their mind about this relationship. I also realized that the singer of this group is right behind the girl playing one of the main leads.
Analysis and interpretation: Describe the Principles of Media Arts as they appear in the music video. Why do you think the musician, musical group, or director created this music video? What themes are promoted in this video? Are they aligned with Gospel Values, or do they counter them?
I think the musical group or director created this music video because they wanted to show others what can go through someone's mind. To enjoy the little things before they are gone and when the right person comes along, take advantage of it and enjoy the time you are with them. I think the theme of this video is to take your relationship slow. Don't rush into things and regret it later. Embrace the moment and take the next step when you are ready. They are trying to say to "Live in the moment". You can still have a lot of fun if you take one step at a time and not skipping any and to enjoy every moment of it. I think it can be aligned with Gospel Values because it can relate by waiting for the right guy, wait until you are sure you are ready to be fully committed to this person and be able to be with them the rest of your life. That they are like a dream to you every time you see them and the one you have waited for your whole life.
Consideration of cultural context: What events may have influenced the musician, musical group, and director to create this music video?
Events that may have influenced this musical group or director to create his music video were either personal events, knowing a situation happening or the influence of others that inspired them to make this music video.
The cinematography, acting and performance, choreography, storyline, special effects, lyrics, and musicality work together in the music video because the story line resembles to a dream she had and once she has to leave, all she thought about was not wanting to leave him then she opens a tablet and sees all their memories they have together. Then she wakes up seeing him on the train where her dream ended. The choreography they put in the video acts out the lyrics they are singing which makes the viewers love it even more, and making the story look much more real. The visual affects my admiration for the song by having the video more related to the lyrics of the song.
Ongoing reflection: How has your chosen music video influenced your reception of the song?
The chosen music video influenced my reception of the song by making me love the song even more. I thought the song was cuter after I watched the music video for the song. I think it will be one of my number ones even after hearing it a bunch of times.
