Web 2.0 is YOU!
1. How will emerging technology (ie: blogs, videos, e-readers,e-books) affect literacy?
2. How is Web 2.0 challenging us to "rethink ourselves" (ie: friendships, work, education, community, family etc...)?
As technology advances, it will either affect the literacy in a bad or a good way.  Texting, msn or any technology that keeps you away from a face to face conversation is not good.  The technology keeps us away from a real conversation and as time passes we will not know how to have a real conversation or keep a conversation going.  It will be awkward and eventually we will not know how to speak to one another  to keep a conversation going.  It also affects our vocabulary since many teenagers and even adults use short forms so they wouldn't know have to write as much and it is much faster so our vocabulary will decrease and it will get worse and worse.  I agree that having these technologies can be a benefit to us in certain ways depending on how you use it.  For example if you were somewhere and you needed to know something right there and you didn't have a computer.  Then the technology would be useful but in ways of communicating, I think its a negative affect.
Web 2.0 is challenging us to "rethink ourselves"  because with new technology coming out every year, we will need to learn how to use them and when the proper time to use them is.  Everyone is all hooked up with the new technology that we are slowly losing contact with our social lives.  People are starting to interact more with their computer and are more into what's going on on their computers then they're own social life.  Web 2.0 is challenging us to rethink which priorities should come first in our life and what is more important.

A Look at Music Videos
Initial reaction: What are your immediate thoughts and observations when you view the music video?
My immediate thoughts and observations when I saw this music video is that the character in this video is not the singer and this story line will be about two other people and the group "Lady Antebellum" will be singing as their background music, showing how they will feel and what is on their mind about this relationship. I also realized that the singer of this group is right behind the girl playing one of the main leads.
Analysis and interpretation: Describe the Principles of Media Arts as they appear in the music video. Why do you think the musician, musical group, or director created this music video? What themes are promoted in this video? Are they aligned with Gospel Values, or do they counter them?
I think the musical group or director created this music video because they wanted to show others what can go through someone's mind. To enjoy the little things before they are gone and when the right person comes along, take advantage of it and enjoy the time you are with them. I think the theme of this video is to take your relationship slow. Don't rush into things and regret it later. Embrace the moment and take the next step when you are ready. They are trying to say to "Live in the moment". You can still have a lot of fun if you take one step at a time and not skipping any and to enjoy every moment of it. I think it can be aligned with Gospel Values because it can relate by waiting for the right guy, wait until you are sure you are ready to be fully committed to this person and be able to be with them the rest of your life. That they are like a dream to you every time you see them and the one you have waited for your whole life.
Consideration of cultural context: What events may have influenced the musician, musical group, and director to create this music video?
Events that may have influenced this musical group or director to create his music video were either personal events, knowing a situation happening or the influence of others that inspired them to make this music video.
The cinematography, acting and performance, choreography, storyline, special effects, lyrics, and musicality work together in the music video because the story line  resembles to a dream she had and once she has to leave, all she thought about was not wanting to leave him then she opens a tablet and sees all their memories they have together.  Then she wakes up seeing him on the train where her dream ended.  The choreography they put in the video acts out the lyrics they are singing which makes the viewers love it even more, and making the story look much more real.  The visual affects my admiration for the song by having the video more related to the lyrics of the song.
Ongoing reflection: How has your chosen music video influenced your reception of the song?
The chosen music video influenced my reception of the song by making me love the song even more.   I thought the song was cuter after I watched the music video for the song.  I think it will be one of my number ones even after hearing it a bunch of times.

Media and Self-Esteem
1. Why do you think people are portrayed this way in the media?
In our world today, I think people are portrayed a certain way in the media to help sell more of their products. Without someone looking absolutely amazing for their advertisements, no one would be willing to even look twice at what they have to offer. Since everyone wants to look amazing like the people in the advertisements, they would buy their product to help them look flawless.
2. How are you affected by the images you see?
Of course when i see these images, it makes me want to try out the products and see if it works but I know I won't exactly look like the people in the advertisements. The images that i see everywhere can lower my self esteem a bit but it doesn't ruin my day or make me do certain things to be the person in the advertisements. In everyone's mind, I think they all want to be that perfect someone that looks amazing all the time, but no one can always look that incredible. Plus at the end of the day, i think everyone loves who they are and what they have. I am always thankful for every part of me even if it isn't perfect. I believe everyone is perfect and unique in their own way.
3. What can be done to reduce the amount of young men and women that are negatively affected by these images??
I think a way to reduce the amount of young men and women that are negatively affected by these images is to stop using Photoshop to make people feel like they are expected to look a certain way. There should be no editing to change how someone should look because after editing everything about that person to make them look "perfect", that image of them isn't even who they are anymore. There is no perfect someone, but there is always beauty.
4. What would your reaction be to a magazine cover where the subject isn't all glammed up? Is this a possible route that society should take? Why or why not?
I think my reaction towards the magazine cover where the subject when it isn't all glammed up would be "WOW! This is the real deal!! (: " Yes, i think it is a possible route that society could take because it would be a change for people's eyes to see a normal person with no edit or touch up by an advice on a computer but as they notice it more often, they will realize that this person on the cover is a way better role model that someone "perfect". It can be someone that they look up to and not doubt themselves because they don't look like the someone on a magazine cover.

To share or Not to Share??
1. What is your personal opinion towards file sharing? Is it right or wrong? Please explain.
In my personal opinion towards file sharing, I think it is a big deal towards the artists creating their art, but for us it is like our daily routine to just share files as if it is no big deal. I understand the artist creating their work needs money like the rest of us and if everyone just shares the files, no money would go towards them. Only one person would buy it and share it with everyone else which would go on until the whole world has it.
2. If you produced your own piece of art/song/movie, would you hold the same opinion?
Depending on what i am creating, my opinion would be different for creating a painting or writing a new song. If i created my own art work such as a painting, i would feel appreciated that people like my work enough to share it with others and knowing what they liked most about it would make me feel like a true artist. I think being a true artist is about sharing your talent with everyone in the world and being proud of what you have created even if some people will give negative comments on your art. Now, if i were a singer/artist creating new music i would like for people to buy my music. But being one of the many people who download music from time to time, i would understand if some people would download the song legally. If i were a creator of my own song and i was selling it on iTunes, I'm not only producing it for money but for everyone to recognize my talent and to enjoy the music as much as i do.
3. Do you feel it is morally acceptable to download copyrighted material if it is only intended for personal use?
No i don't find it morally acceptable to download copyrighted material even if it is only intended for personal use. I know i am one of the victims for downloading copyrighted materials but in my mind, i know it is wrong to do so. Many artists, companies have lost a lot of money because people now just download everything off the internet and get away with it. That is why everyone thinks it is a big deal.

Career Mashing!
The career i would work best in is a programmer analyst.  As a  programmer analysts, you would be focusing on software development, analyzing codes and ensuring enhancements or modifications are completed.  This area is connected to developer and interactive media developer.  Weather you are working alone or on teams, the programmer analyst is responsible for the design and implementation of software programs for computer systems.  A programmer analyst solve computing problems and monitor systems for potential problems, and they also develop programs that meet user needs on a daily basis.
There are many different pathways for your education. One education pathway for becoming a programmer analyst is having a Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering or a related discipline. Two other education pathways for becoming a programmer analyst is having a college diploma in computer science or software engineering or equivalent experience.
Neda Kazemi is a custom coder Programmer/Analyst, working at Randstad Technologies. Neda moved from her native Iran to Canada to pursue a career in IT. She created a new online expense system at Randstad Technologies - a staggng agency that places tech progessionals in temporary jobs at clients like IBM, Microsoft and RBC. Neda's program changed all that making it easier, faster and greener!
Neda works with the contract admin team, she develops and enhances their online tools for expenses and time sheets.  Meda spends most of her day in coding.  She is constantly building new features and custom layout designs.  "To be a coder, programmer or analyst, you have to be creative.  Sometimes you think there is no way to get something done, so you bend the rules and take a chance.  You find a solution in a whole new way.  A little creativity here and there solves problem." Neda says.

Texting in social situations
What are your thoughts on texting in social situations?
In my opinion, it depends on your social situation. If it was during a dinner, party or a social event, I don't suggest texting because you are actually talking to someone at the time. Whatever the situation on the text might be, I think it can wait or they would have called you instead. But if you were trying to find somebody or you needed something at that moment and calling isn't the best idea, texting is a great way to communicate. If I was talking to a friend and they kept asking me to repeat myself or hold on, I got a text I would get annoyed. I would feel disrespected and feel that my opinion doesn't matter to them because they aren't listening clearly due to their text. For example, if you were spending time with your parents, I think your parents would feel a bit unappreciated that you rather talk to your friends that you see almost every day of the week then spend a little time with them.
Do you find it rude if you're talking to somebody and they proceed to text continuously on their cell phone?
Yes, I would find it rude if you're talking to somebody and they proceed to text continuously on their cellphones. You would be having a conversation with somebody and all of a sudden you hear their phone go off and your conversation would stop because they would have to answer their text. Unless it is important and you know that they are waiting for an important message from somebody, I don't think you should be texting during a social situation.
If you had to come up with a list of five etiquette rules for texting. what would they be?
1. DO NOT text when having an actual conversation with somebody else
2. Checking your phone occasionally is reasonable incase of an emergency but either then that, you shouldn't be texting during a conversation with someone else
3. Text someone because you want to and not because you are bored and they are your last resort
4. If you are able to meet up with the person you are texting, go for it instead of texting them
5. Don't text when driving or crossing streets
